Sophia Stacey is an Australian filmmaker, editor, and director, and the creative force behind Mazuma Productions and Colour In Your Life. Since 2012, she has been the filmmaker and editor behind the internationally acclaimed series, and now serves as its presenter, executive producer, and creative director guiding its evolution into a globally recognised platform for artists.
With a background spanning documentary television, music video, and independent film, Sophia’s work centres on authentic storytelling and meaningful human connection. She has a natural ability to put people at ease on camera, drawing out genuine, compelling narratives that resonate with audiences.
Prior to her career in film, Sophia spent several years performing and teaching music including piano, vocals, bass, and guitar. This foundation continues to shape her creative instincts and deep understanding of artistic expression.
At the heart of my work is a belief that storytelling has the power to connect, inspire, and preserve what matters most.
Whether I’m filming artists in their studios or capturing deeply personal life stories, I try to keep things simple — creating an environment where people feel comfortable enough to just be themselves.
For me, every project is more than just a production — it’s a collaboration, and an opportunity to create something meaningful that will last.
